Our Annual Science Fair is upon us!  We are very excited about this process and hope that you will share our enthusiasm.  We had such a successful year in 2018-2019 and anticipate an even better event this year.  We have made a few adjustments to the expectations for various grade-levels; please see below:

Kindergarten-2nd Grade:

Science Fair projects will be completed as a whole class. Teachers will lead students through the steps of the Scientific Process and prepare them for completing Science Fair projects in later grades.

3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade:

Science Fair projects will be completed as individuals, with the majority of the work completed with their families at home. These students have already received a Science Fair Handbook which includes detailed information about each step of this project. If you should have any questions or are in need of some help and support, please feel free to reach out to your student's teacher. Participation within our 3rd grade is not required but is strongly encouraged. It is mandatory that all 4th and 5th-grade students submit a project to the school.

All projects are due:
November 18th(Monday) and 19th (Tuesday) 2019.

The judging shall take place on
Wednesday, November 20th (3rd & 4th grade)
Thursday, November 21st (5th grade)

Our goal in providing this project is to help our children learn to become true scientists.  Learning how to research and find answers to things that make us wonder if the important emphasis of studying science. Students need to know the process and learn the skills of systematically searching for these answers.  They also need to learn that science does not always turn out the way that they might expect.

We look so forward to seeing what our students discover.  No doubt, they will do an amazing job.  If you have any other questions about the Science Fair, please contact your child’s teacher.  Thank you for your help!

Sincerely,

Kennedy Academy Faculty and Staff
